Runaway Bride (1999)
Starring Julia Roberts, this romantic comedy actually features a series of weddings that end up not being pushed through when the bride-to-be leaves her grooms-to-be waiting for her in vain at the altar. Her roster of unsuccessful relationships and unfulfilled weddings led to the tabloid fame of this successful, attractive and spirited young woman. Her popularity being the ‘Runaway Bride’ brings her to Ike, a reporter who intends to feature her story. Ike turns out the man who will give Maggie a reason to finally get married.
The Proposal (2009)
Featuring the team-up between Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, this wedding movie has been filmed in Alaska. Bullock plays the role of Margaret Tate, a Canadian immigrant, who is threatened by potential deportation charges due to visa expiration. Left with no other option, Margaret resorts to asking her assistant, Andrew Paxton played by Ryan Reynolds, to act as her husband. What started out as a pseudo-marriage later turns out to be a real-life chemistry. Even after Margaret has resolved her visa problems, the relationship between her and Andrew grows stronger.
Wedding Crashers (2005)

Starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn as John Beckwith and Jeremy Grey, respectively, this comedy movie features the adventures of the two divorce mediators who frequently crash into weddings to meet women. Father of the Bride (1991)
A remake of the film with the same title, this wedding movie top-bills Steve Martin, Diane Keaton and Martin Short. Steve plays the role of George Banks, a shoe executive blessed with a happy married life until her daughter studying in Europe comes home to announce her engagement with Bryan MacKenzie whom she has only known for three months. Because of his dislike for Bryan, George has been ignored during the wedding preparations. Then, the father of the bride ends up reminiscing his wonderful times with his daughter and laments the thought of letting go of his little princess.
My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997)
If you want a refreshingly entertaining comedy flick, My Best Friend’s Wedding surely tops the list. This romantic comedy movie stars Julia Roberts, Dermot Mulroney and Cameron Diaz. Julia plays the role of Julianne Potter, a renowned restaurant critic and the best friend of Michael O’Neil played by Dermot. During college, the two bestfriends agreed to get married if they have not yet found a partner when they turn 28. However, three weeks before Julianne’s 28th birthday, Michael informs her that he is getting married. This unexpected announcement makes Julianne jealous and leads her to realize her love for him.
